Luminous Leading Ladies Mentoring Programs helps unveil the potential in young ladies by connecting them with a female mentor. As a mentor, you will help mentees develop in virtually all aspects of their lives such as helping them build self-esteem, goal setting, helping them realize their WHYs, advising them on life issues, life skills and helping them understand the value and impact of community service. As a mentor, it’s important to foster counselor skills such as: listening, guiding and directing; Thus enabling your mentees to make the right decisions on their own. Finally, we expect our mentors to be cheerleaders, and successful women who will also celebrate a mentee’s successes-no matter how big or small. 

Criteria for a Mentor

  • Must live within the DFW area
  • Must be willing to invest time and effort into mentee’s goal attainment and building a relationship with the mentees
  • Must adhere to the Luminous Leading Ladies Mentor Training Guide and attend the mandatory training session
  • Completed application with all attachments
    • Character Letter from your previous or current employer, employee, friend or pastor
    • Background Check is a requirement to volunteer as a mentor. If you have a recent background check, please upload it. If you don’t have a background check, attach a document stating that you understand the requirements of a background check for volunteering and will submit a background check before you’re hired. 
    • Photo will be a recent photo of the applicant
  • Attend and actively participate in our DIAMONDS Programs, fundraisers and other Luminous Leading Ladies events.

APPLICATION PROCESS

These are our steps within the application process. Applicants who move beyond the interview phase will receive an acceptance email or call. All applicants who interview will be notified by phone or email on their status in the interview process.
